Sonny Carter Elementary and Vineville Academy of the Arts earn Leader in Me Lighthouse Honor Roll recognition
Sonny Carter Elementary and Vineville Academy of the Arts have been named Leader in Me Lighthouse Honor Roll Schools for their exemplary academic growth, according to a news release from the Bibb County School District.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Sonny Carter Elementary and Vineville Academy of the Arts have been named Leader in Me Lighthouse Honor Roll Schools for their exemplary academic growth, according to a news release from the Bibb County School District.
“Lighthouse Academic Honor Roll recognizes Leader in Me Schools that have both met the rigorous requirements necessary to achieve and maintain Lighthouse School Certification and shown exemplary academic growth or proficiency as measured by state accountability standards,” the release said.
The FranklinCovey Foundation’s Leader in Me framework, which the district says it implemented with support from the community and OneMacon, aims to improve leadership and academic achievement.
In 2024, Vineville Academy of the Arts saw its percentile ranking rise to 59.5, up from 50.2 in 2023—an increase of 9.4 points. Sonny Carter Elementary improved its ranking to 66.2 in 2024, up from 56.3 in 2023—a 9.9-point increase. The rankings were determined through independent data analysis conducted by SchoolDigger.com, according to the district’s release.
Twelve Bibb County School District schools have achieved Leader in Me Lighthouse School status.
