Man dead after shooting on Ibex Street in Macon

The fatal incident occurred at 8:40 p.m. on October 20 near the intersection of Chappell Street. 

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man is dead after a fatal shooting within the 400 block of Ibex Street on Sunday night, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The fatal incident occurred at 8:40 p.m. on October 20 near the intersection of Chappell Street. Deputies responded to the area in reference to a person being shot.

When deputies arrived, they found a 28-year-old man unresponsive with a gunshot wound.

Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley pronounced the man, Deundrae Santonio Gay, dead on scene. The next of kin has been notified.

Investigators are currently working to determine what led up to the shooting
