GSP: Man dies after Dodge County hit-and-run; driver arrested

A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run on Cochran Highway near Bates Road on Saturday, October 12, according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

DODGE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run on Cochran Highway near Bates Road on Saturday, according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

GSP confirmed by email that troopers from Post 17 in Dublin responded to scene. Investigators determined a vehicle hit the pedestrian, 30-year-old Chris Snellgrove, before fleeing the scene. Snellgrove was airlifted to a Macon hospital but later died.

The driver involved in the crash, Morris Morss was located and arrested. Troopers say he was under the influence at the time of the incident. Morss was arrested and charged.

GSP’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) was called to assist with the investigation.
