Atlanta Motor Speedway opens campgrounds for Hurricane Milton evacuees
Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) is offering its campgrounds as a safe haven for Hurricane Milton evacuees.

HAMPTON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) is offering its campgrounds as a safe haven for Hurricane Milton evacuees.
In collaboration with Henry County EMA, AMS will open its Legends Premium Campground for RVs and Legends Tent Campground for pop-up campers and tents. Free access to a nearby showerhouse will be available, according to an AMS news release. The facility will also offer a limited number of spaces with full hook-ups, including water, power, and sewer, for a fee of $35 per night.
“While our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those affected by Hurricane Helene, we’re committed to helping when storms affect communities in the southeast whenever we can,” AMS Executive Vice President and General Manager Brandon Hutchison said. “We have hundreds of acres of campgrounds and opening up our facility is an easy choice to make. If you’re in Milton’s path and looking for a place to stay, we’re here for you.”
AMS has opened its campgrounds to storm evacuees several times in recent years, most recently during Hurricane Idalia in 2023. The speedway also provided camping during Hurricanes Irma, Florence, Michael and Dorian.
Evacuees can enter AMS campgrounds via GA Highway 20 and Lower Woolsey Road at Entrance “H” or US Highway 19/41 at Entrance “E.”
For those needing full hook-up camping, reservations can be made by calling the AMS ticket office at (770) 946-4211 during business hours.
