Team Trump Bus Tour rallies voters in Macon
With just 32 days until the Nov. 5 presidential election, polling data shows a tight race between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – “Team Trump” launched a three-day bus tour across Georgia on Friday, with supporters gathering at Bibb County Republican Party headquarters for the Macon stop.
With just 32 days until the Nov. 5 presidential election, polling data shows a tight race between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, both on the national level and here in Georgia.
The keynote speaker for the event was Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA). Ernst criticized the Biden-Harris administration for its response to the destruction of Hurricane Helene.
“It sounds like a lot of the money that was directed to FEMA has been redirected for other activities, and that’s not right,” Ernst said. “It should be coming here to Georgia.”
Many rally attendees expressed that concerns over the economy was their top priority in this year’s election. Ernst encouraged Georgia voters to compare the cost of living today to during the years of the Trump administration when deciding to vote for.
“Was their household a lot better off than it is today,” Ernst said. Reflect upon what you’ve experienced four years ago and what you’re experiencing today. Who was a better president? Who do you think will be a better president?”
Also speaking at the rally was Dr. Wayne Johnson, candidate for U.S. House (GA-2). Johnson echoed the sentiment of fighting inflation, and said he was excited to hopefully work alongside Trump to do so.
“I’ve come up with a plan for a program where people can buy a brand spanking new house, 3-bedroom 2-baths, for less than $1,000 a month,” Johnson said. “I’ve got the plan for that, and I’ve also got a plan where people can get into a brand new car for less than $200 a month.”
Johnson also described his plans to address the need for more grocery stores in east Macon.
“I’ve talked to people that say they spend more on Uber to go back and forth to the grocery store than they do on their groceries, and so we’ve got to fix that,” Johnson said.
Team Trump will continue their bus tour across the state before wrapping up in Gainesville on Sunday.
