Monroe County Middle School student found with Airsoft gun on campus

A Monroe County Middle School student was found to be in possession of an Airsoft gun on Tuesday, according to a message sent to parents by the Monroe County School District.

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Monroe County Middle School student was found to be in possession of an Airsoft gun on Tuesday.

According to a message to sent to parents by Monroe County Schools, “early indications are” that the Airsoft gun was in a student’s waistband, and the investigation revealed it was shown to other students.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. The student will remain off campus pending the investigation and a disciplinary review
