Family Files for Arrest Warrant of East Dublin Police Officer

Thursday a Laurens County Judge will decide if East Dublin Police Officer, Jeffrey Deal, should be arrested for false imprisonment.

Last May, Deal shot and killed Melvin Williams during a traffic stop and now the Williams family is seeking justice in court.

Lena Williams remembers her son and says his death could have been avoided. 33-year-old Melvin Williams was shot and killed less than a mile from his home during a routine traffic stop May 14, 2010.

41 NBC retrieved police car video footage shot from Deal’s vehicle, the day Williams died. On the surface, the video shows a scuffle between Deal and Williams.
