Macon State Opens Warner Robins Fitness Center

On Monday, Macon State College opened it’s new fitness center in Warner Robins.

The $60,000 center features treadmills, a five station multi-gym, elliptical machines, and free weights.

Macon State’s Director of Recreation and Wellness James Hagler says the facility is open to students who have paid the recreation and wellness fee of $140 per semester.

“You know it’s a growing thing, it’s something that students are learning about and as they learn about it, it will get more usage. We’ve had a lot come in and knew it was coming, they just didn’t realize it was opening,” says Hagler.

The center is located next to the student lounge inside Thomas Hall.

Hagler says the school plans to renovate another building on campus to have more recreation activities and student services. That project is scheduled to be completed by 2012.
