Bibb Superintendent Lets Westside Principal Return to Work

A Bibb County High School principal will get her job back. In August, Bibb County School Superintendent Dr. Romain Dallemand recommended that Laura Perkins be terminated as Westside High School’s principal.  This came after allegations that she violated the school districts policies when it comes to bidding and contracts.

After reviewing the facts, Dr. Dallemand decided to bring Perkins back from her suspension, saying she hasn’t been involved in any wrongdoing.

41NBC received a statement from Ms. Perkins regarding the situation-

“I have always believed and have always tried to teach my students that you do the right thing because it is the right thing to do. I am grateful that this has been the case in this matter. I would like to thank Dr. Dallemand for reconsidering the facts of this matter and reinstating me. I am indebted to my family, my dear friends and colleagues, my wonderful students who are beyond compare, and my incredible attorneys for their faith in me and their efforts to help me through this time. I count the minutes until I can return to Westside and look forward to a wonderful rest of the school year.”
