Cutting Costs The Green Way For Farmers
We were fortunate to use most of what was already here and we were able to scrap most of the reusable product that was in that older building, says GM Joe Oaks.
To its final products.
“We don’t use any chemicals to break the oil out”.
Swartz AG runs eco-friendly,
specializing in “green-feed” for cattle. e’re crushing cotton seed, and getting the cotton seed oil and creating an economic feed source for the dairy and beef industries, says Oaks.
All while keeping extra “green” in farmers’ pockets.
“We were able to save the farmers quite a bit in travel expenses”.
Considering there’s about 2 million bushels of soybeans grown annually in about a 50 mile radius from here, and this area has the highest herd count of dairy cattle any where in the state.
“It is local. it is very convenient. it also allows us to cut our transportation costs, and therefore by at a better price”.
And this feed is going a long way.
“We’ve had increased milk production from our customers, which they are very satisfied with the product so in turn we are satisfied with it” says Randall Yoder.
The Mid Georgia Farm Service sells the meal, and customers can’t get enough of it.
“It’s just a real blessing for us to know we have a sister company close to us that is going to supply us with all these products.”
With swartz ag less than 5 miles way…saving money for Mid georgia farms has a ripple effect.
“That in turn makes it a cheaper product for the end user as well”.
No pesticides, no herbicides just big savings.
