Brutal heat to end the week

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will soar into the upper 90s and lower triple digits Friday.
This Evening
Skies will remain mostly clear for the majority of Middle Georgia as the night falls. The northeastern counties of the region are seeing a few isolated storms associated with the outer bands of Debby which is currently moving from South Carolina into North Carolina. Most of Middle Georgia will not see rain tonight. Scattered clouds are likely through the overnight hours as temperatures valley in the mid 70s. Ambient wind will generally be out of the west at around 5 mph.
Tomorrow
Skies will be partly sunny tomorrow afternoon as temperatures rise into the upper 90s and low triple digits. Heat indexes will largely be over 100 degrees with many pushing close to 105. A Heat Advisory may be issued to address this. Wind will be generally calm from the west, meaning unlike earlier in the week it will not help much with the heat. UV Index values will also be around 11, so sunscreen is a must for anyone working/spending time outside. A couple of stray storms will be possible in the afternoon and evening.
Overnight skies will be mostly clear with lows dropping largely into the mid 70s. Wind will be out of the south-southwest around 5 mph. Rain is not expected overnight.
The Tropics
Another tropical wave is trying to organize in the middle of the Atlantic. As of now it has a 40% chance to become a Tropical Depression in the next 7 days.
