Man arrested after armed vehicle hijacking, investigation underway
The armed vehicle hijacking occurred at the 1600 block of Anthony Road.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in connection with a motor vehicle hijacking investigation on Thursday, according to a news release.
Deputies responded to a call within the 1600 block of Anthony Road on August 8 after 2 a.m. A man was sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by a masked person who brandished a firearm. The armed suspect demanded the victim’s vehicle, forcing the owner to exit.
The suspect then fled in the vehicle. No one was injured.
The vehicle was later spotted in the 3400 block of Napier Avenue. When deputies tried to make contact with the suspect, a brief pursuit happened. The suspect was taken into custody while in possession of the stolen vehicle.
The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Christopher Dewayne Bonner of Macon.
Bonner faces charges of aggravated assault, theft by taking auto and felony theft by taking. His bond has been denied. This case is still under investigation.
