Wet evening ahead for Middle Georgia

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Widespread storms are likely this evening and tonight.
This Evening
Storms began shortly after lunchtime and have become more widespread since. Expect thunderstorms to be prominent through the suppertime hours and into tonight for most of the region. While storms may calm some heading into tonight, rain will likely persist well past midnight. While not everywhere in the region will see rain, most will.
Overnight lows will be in the low 70s again accompanied by light and variable winds.
Tomorrow
Thursday will be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered storms expected in the afternoon and evening. Highs should reach the upper 80s and lower 90s with heat indexes reaching into the upper 90s. Ambient wind will come from the west-southwest around 5 mph.
Overnight will be mostly cloudy with a couple of isolated storms lingering early. Rain should not be as widespread as Wednesday evening/night. Overnight lows will be in the lower 70s.
