Miami homicide suspect Wayne Sanders arrested in Forsyth

Wayne Sanders, wanted for homicide and armed robbery, was arrested in Forsyth by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and is awaiting extradition to Florida.

FORSYTH, Ga. (41NBC/WMGT) — Wayne Sanders, wanted for two counts of homicide and one count of armed robbery in Miami, Florida, was arrested in Forsyth by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Sanders was taken into custody without incident after being located in a subdivision, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says it received information indicating Sanders was in the Forsyth area. Miami Police Department investigators had warned that Sanders was believed to be armed. Following this tip, Monroe County Sheriff’s investigators pinpointed Sanders’ location.

Once Sanders was found, the Monroe County Sheriff’s SWAT team and K-9 units moved in and made the arrest. Sanders is being held in the Monroe County Jail without bond, awaiting extradition back to Florida.
