The Facebook page “Missing Person – Garland Warren” posted an update on Tuesday that mentioned a search in Taylor County.

“Good Afternoon,” the post read. “We did meet this morning at 9 to start our search in Taylor County. Everyone is in different areas of Taylor County and as of right now we don’t have anyone sitting at the Rec Dept. Just keep searching all areas in Taylor County if you can. Pm us the areas you checked so they can be marked off the map.”

UPDATE (6/17/24): The search for 82-year-old Garland Warren, who went missing last week, intensified on Monday with the involvement of multiple local law enforcement agencies, including the FBI.

Warren, last seen on June 10 getting gas at AUM Food Mart in Roberta, was en route to pick up his wife from a hair appointment in Eastman when he got lost, according to his daughter, Michelle Warren.

Michelle Warren and a family friend led a search party Monday based out of Roberta City Park.

Crawford County deputies tell 41NBC Warren was spotted on a Flock camera in Dexter and then again in Crawford County before his last known appearance at the gas station, which is just one street away from the search base in the park.

Officers on scene were uncertain about the time and route Garland could have taken after his last sighting.

According to Michelle Warren, her father doesn’t own a cell phone. His vehicle had a phone device, but the FBI was unable to trace the signal since it used a 3G network. That network was shut down in 2022.

“Sometimes when the situation presents itself, I mean, he’s an elderly gentleman and quite naturally, anytime that someone wants to come in and aid you in what you’re doing, you appreciate that effort,” Crawford County Sheriff Lewis Walker said Monday. “So, they are another agency that we work closely with, but it says that people are concerned about trying to help us locate this person.”

The FBI’s involvement included aerial scans of Crawford County, but an agent 41NBC spoke with reported no new findings.
