Community leaders celebrate Atrium Health Amphitheater with plaque
Macon-Bibb Mayor Lester Miller says the amphitheater has already brought in around 23 to 24 million dollars this year.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A plaque was unveiled at the Atrium Health Amphitheater in Macon on Friday, as a thank you to those who were involved in its creation.
The inscription on the plaque reads: “This is what Team Macon-Bibb looks like – people, organizations, and companies – working together to make something wonderful happen for all people,” words spoken by Macon-Bibb Mayor Lester Miller.
Mayor Miller highlighted the development of Macon’s west side, citing the Pickleball complex, Rhythm and Rally, and the new amphitheater as signs of progress. He says the amphitheater has already brought in around 23 to 24 million dollars this year.
Alex Morrison, Executive Director at Macon-Bibb County Urban Development Authority, expressed optimism about the theater’s positive impact for property owners.
“It’s helping Macon-Bibb County roll back the millage rate, allowing you to have very nice things and enjoy things in your community without that coming from your property tax dollars. It’s inviting people here to come invest.”
The plaque was made possible thanks to the Bicentennial Committee and Piedmont Construction. It’s located near the west gate entrance of the Atrium Health Amphitheater.
