Milledgeville pedestrian killed Sunday on Colony Farm Road

A Milledgeville man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Sunday on Colony Farm Road, according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Milledgeville man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Sunday on Colony Farm Road, according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

GSP says a Honda Civic was traveling southbound when it struck a pedestrian who was lying in the roadway. GSP reported that the pedestrian, identified as 21-year-old Damon Dukes, was wearing black clothing at the time of the incident.

GSP says the driver traveled a short distance before turning around.

Deputies at the scene administered CPR to Dukes, but their efforts were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from Dukes, according to GSP. Deputy Coroner William Garland obtained a blood sample from Dukes for further investigation.
