MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 80s Wednesday as cloud cover takes a step back.

Mostly cloudy skies will remain with Middle Georgia through the sunset as an isolated shower or thunderstorm remains possible. Expect temperatures to stay in the mid to upper 70s or even low 80s most of the evening. It will be a muggy night with the possibility of a shower lasting until around midnight or shortly thereafter. Lows will mainly be in the lower 60s with ambient wind expected out of the west at around 5 mph.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s. Scattered cumulus clouds are likely in the afternoon, but that should be the extent of the cloud cover over Middle Georgia for the day. Winds will be gentle out of the northwest at around 5 mph.

Overnight it will be mostly clear with lows expected to be in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Winds will come more from the northeast at about 5 mph.

Thursday will see a bit more cloud cover as well for a chance for a shower or storm in the late afternoon/early evening/overnight. Highs should reach their peaks for the week in the upper 80s and lower 90s. More clouds are likely Friday as rain odds climb to end the week.
