Jones County Athletics welcomes new basketball coaches
Willie Reese, Takeo Gray to lead Greyhounds following Harris departures

GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Jones County High School Athletics has announced new head coaches for its boys and girls basketball teams following the departure of Coaches Buck and ChoRhonda Harris to Northside High School in Warner Robins last month.
Willie Reese will take over the boys team, and Takeo Gray will lead the girls team, according to jonescountygreyhounds.com, the school’s athletics website.
Coach Reese is a Georgia Tech alumnus with a history that includes playing in NCAA tournaments and coaching at collegiate and high school levels.
“Coach Willie Reese and his wife have two adult children, Jasmine and Willie Jr. Coach Reese attended Georgia Tech where he had 5 NCAA tournament appearances, one ACC Tournament Championship and was awarded the scholar athlete award,” the website stated.
On the girls’ side, Jones County alum Takeo Gray will return to his roots, bringing his coaching experience and academic credentials from Fort Valley State University and the University of Phoenix.
“Coach Takeo Gray and his wife, Sheridetric Gray have two children, Asia and Tekeo Jr. Coach Gray is a 1998 graduate of Jones County High School,” the website stated. Gray previously served as an assistant basketball coach at Jones County High School and Westside High School in Macon.
The announcement comes a few weeks after the website congratulated Coach Buck Harris and Coach ChoRhonda Harris for their new roles as head basketball coaches at Northside. The Harris duo previously led the boys and girls teams at Jones County.
