Crash disrupts downtown Macon traffic; emergency crews on scene

Multiple emergency vehicles are on the scene of a crash near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Poplar Street in downtown Macon.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Multiple emergency vehicles are on the scene of a crash near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Poplar Street in downtown Macon.

It happened around 11:45.

We’re not sure how many vehicles were involved or how the crash happened, but drivers should avoid the area until the scene is clear.

One car, a dark-colored Hyundai Elantra, was overturned. At least one car parked on MLK Jr. Blvd. also appeared to have been damaged.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released official details.
