Strong winds to remain with Middle Georgia Thursday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Sunny skies are back for Middle Georgia, however strong winds in the wake of Wednesday morning’s cold front linger.

Skies will remain mostly clear this evening and tonight as the wind comes from the west-northwest at 10-17 mph, gusting as high as 25 mph. It will be chilly with lows in the low to mid 40s for most of the region.

It should be a sunny day for most of Middle Georgia Thursday. The northern counties could see some scattered low to mid level clouds in the late afternoon, however. Highs will reach the mid to upper 60s across the region with wind coming from the west at 10-20 mph, gusting over 30 mph.

Overnight those breezes will remain pretty strong as they shift more towards the west northwest. Sustained speeds should fall in the 10-15 mph range with gusts in the 15-25 mph range. Any clouds from the late afternoon hours will clear out before midnight. Low temperatures will mainly be in the lower 40s, however a couple of upper 30s will be possible.

Friday will be a sunny and breezy day with highs again in the mid to upper 60s with wind from the west-northwest at 10-16 mph, gusting between 15 and 25 mph. Upper 60s (and a couple lower 70s) and less wind are expected Saturday with Sunday seeing the return of the 70s for the rest of Middle Georgia.
