US Open Under Way At Congressional, Coverage On 41NBC

BETHESDA, MD – The 111th U.S. Open is under way at Congressional Country Club.

South Korean Dae-Hyun Kim hit the first tee shot Thursday, a drive down the center of the fairway, to kick things off at the year’s second major, the toughest test in golf.

Defending champion Graeme McDowell had a tee time later in the morning, with the world’s top three players – Luke Donald, Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer – also grouped together with a morning tee time.

Tiger Woods is out with an injury, making a normally wide-open tournament that much more unpredictable.

Among the so-called favorites are Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy, who were grouped together in the glamour threesome of the afternoon.

41 NBC will have coverage of the U.S. Open coverage at Congressional starting June 16th. Broadcast times are:
