Sunshine returns for the weekend

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Sunny but windy conditions will take over the Peach State in the wake of this morning’s cold front.

Clouds will work to clear through this evening as the wind backs off with the sunset. Skies will be clear overnight with northwest winds coming in at about 5-12 mph, gusting upwards of 20 mph. Middle Georgians will have a fantastic view of this month’s full moon as a result. Temperatures will largely drop into the lower 40s ahead of the sunset Saturday.

There will be abundant sunshine early before scattered clouds move in during the afternoon. Temperatures will reach the mid to upper 60s across most of the region, however the real feels may be a couple of degrees cooler thanks to west-northwest winds coming in at 10-22 mph and gusting between 30 and 40 mph.

Tomorrow night will also be clear with low temperatures expected to plummet towards the freezing point. Winds will be much calmer out of the north-northwest at about 5-10 mph.

Sunday and Beyond

Sunday will be cooler than Monday despite overall sunnier and calmer conditions. Winds will shift from the northwest to the southwest throughout the day with speeds of around 5 mph. Highs will reach the lower 60s for most of the region before dropping into the upper 30s and lower 40s ahead of Monday. Scattered clouds will begin to fill in during the late evening and overnight hours.

Expect warm and sunny conditions to begin next week before cloud cover begins to ramp up Tuesday ahead of another cold front Wednesday.
