MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia Military College (GMC) Preparatory School named Gavin Tierce its next head football coach on Wednesday.

According to a GMC news release, Tierce is a current history teacher, wrestling coach and offensive line coach for the prep school football team.

“Being a head football coach has been a dream of mine since I first stepped on the field as a player,” Tierce said. “I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to lead the Bulldogs and contribute to the lasting legacy of success at Georgia Military College Prep School. GMC is such an amazing and supportive community, and being a part of this family has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.”

GMC says Tierce has made meaningful connections with GMC Prep students and that his selection as head coach is also a testament to his “overwhelming support from his coaching staff and players.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Tierce as our new Head Football Coach,” GMC Prep School Principal Col. Amy Lee said. “His dedication to our students both in the classroom and on the field is exemplary. We have full confidence in his ability to lead our football program to new heights.”

Tierce will be the prep school’s fourth new head football coach in the last decade. He’ll replace Bobby Rhoades, who went 3-7 in his lone season as coach in 2023.
