PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A special election has been called for the City of Perry District 2, Post 2 council seat.
The city says the election, set for May 21, will fill the vacancy created by the expiration of Joy Peterson’s term on December 31, 2023.
Council officially called the special election on Tuesday, February 6 as a requirement due to no qualified candidates being added to the ballot for the November 2023 general election.
Qualifying dates are March 4-8.
