Bibb County Sheriff’s Office offering free firearms safety course later this month

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Outreach Section will host a free, two-part firearms safety and training course later this month.

A firearms license is not required to participate, but participants must have their own firearm (handgun) and ammunition (minimum of 20 rounds).

The first class of the course is happening at the Sheriff’s Outreach Office, located at 774 Hazel Street, from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, February 19. It will cover legal issues.

The second class will be held at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Training Facility, located at 1166 Jackson Street, on Tuesday, February 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. Live firearms training will happen there.

Students are required to attend both nights.
