Mostly cloudy skies will stick around as the southeast winds slowly shift more towards the south. They will remain rather calm, however, with speeds expected to range from 5-10 mph. A few small showers will be possible this evening and overnight, but many parts of Middle Georgia could still stay dry. Temperatures will remain very warm tonight with lows only falling into the low to mid 60s. Some patchy fog will again be possible.

Tomorrow (Thursday, Jan. 25)

Much like the past couple of days, clouds will remain overhead for Middle Georgia. Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s around the region with showers becoming more likely after lunchtime. During the evening and overnight hours, a couple of thunderstorms could also be possible. However, the cold front will likely still be over eastern Alabama at this time. Winds will be a bit breezy as they come from the south at 5-15 mph, potentially gusting over 25 mph.

Tomorrow night, a couple of thunderstorms along with showers will be possible as the cold front crosses into Georgia. No severe weather is expected. Low temperatures will again be in the low to mid 60s around Middle Georgia ahead of Friday morning.

Friday and the weekend

With the cold front slowly moving through Middle Georgia come Friday afternoon, this will be the day of the week with the most widespread rain. Highs will still reach the low to mid 70s around the region with wind coming from the south at about 4-12 mph. No severe weather is expected, but thunderstorms could bring heavy rain that could lead to localized flash flooding.

Saturday, a second cold front will bring stronger storms to much of Alabama and parts of Georgia. The SPC has highlighted an area for a 15% risk of severe weather. This includes the far northwestern reaches of Middle Georgia, so it will be something to watch as we roll into the weekend. Rain could linger through Saturday night and into Sunday before slowing Sunday afternoon. Cloud cover is anticipated to linger through the entire weekend and clear out during the first half of the day Monday.
