Cold and rain today

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Not a very cold start this morning as we are in the upper 40s to low 50s across the area. On radar there are a few showers that will continue through the morning hours to the early afternoon. The chance of rain today is at 50 percent, however I can’t rule out the possibility of a wintry mix in our northern counties as temperatures will continue to plummet as the day progresses into mid and upper 30s as the cold front marches towards the east. Temperatures will feel like the upper 20s to low 30s due to breezy conditions this afternoon winds will gust up to 25 mph. Tonight we will see the coldest air yet of winter. Temperatures will range from 17-24 degrees with wind chills from 7-15 degree. A wind chill advisory has been issued for parts of our northern counties for single digits wind chills. Tomorrow we will see plenty of sunshine with highs in the mid 40s. It may be a good idea to check on pets, pipes, and people as temperatures are dangerous if not prepared. Thursday we will continue to see temperatures very cold across Middle Georgia. On Friday we are back into the 50s with most in the middle 50s. This weekend brings another cold front with lows in the 20s with highs in the 40s. Have a great day!!
