Strong winds and storms today
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – This morning we are starting off chilly in the 30s across Middle Georgia. We will warm up today into the mid and upper 60s today. The SPC has placed all of our area in a level 2/5 “Slight” risk. This means the chance of strong to severe thunderstorms to occur. The threat is much lower now than yesterday do to the inconsistency in models and unknown timing of instability and moisture. The threat of damaging winds, heavy rain, and the possibility of a tornado still exists. Timing seems to be 11am to 5pm as of now with the best threat from 1pm to 4pm. To be honest this threat doesn’t look to be as serious, but still you should have ways of getting alert’s today. We will continue to have updates throughout the day on 41NBC. The other threat is strong non thunderstorms wind gust up to 40 mph. There is a wind advisory for the entirety of middle Georgia until 1am. The weekend looks to be chilly but sunny in the 50s. Next week we could see the coldest air in a while with temperatures in the teens on Wednesday and Thursday morning. We also will see highs in the 40s. Have a good day!
