MACON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 20-year-old Christian Meraz of Montezuma on charges of impersonating a police officer.
On December 20, 2023, Meraz, driving a gray Nissan Frontier with flashing blue and white lights, allegedly pulled over a motorist on Flint River School Road. The motorist, an employee of Barrington Dairy, became suspicious of Meraz’s disheveled appearance and the presence of a holstered handgun, leading to a 911 call. The motorist said he’d also been stopped by Meraz two days prior and that other dairy employees had been stopped as well.
Deputy Marquis Sandifer says he identified and located Meraz, who admitted to the act and to purchasing police equipment online.
Meraz faces multiple charges including impersonating a police officer, use of blue lights on a vehicle, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
