MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – High pressure will keep sunshine over Middle Georgia until Wednesday.

The Rest of the Evening

Following a warm afternoon by January standards Middle Georgia will see much colder conditions overnight. Skies will be clear with winds from the north-northwest at around 5-10 mph. Low temperatures will be just below freezing across Middle Georgia heading into Tuesday.

Tomorrow

Mostly sunny skies are likely throughout the afternoon with cooler afternoon highs (mid 50s vs lower 60s). Winds will be variable around 5 mph.

Overnight cloud cover will increase with some showers possible as Wednesday begins. Low temperatures will likely be around the freezing point by sunrise.

Wednesday and Beyond

Wednesday will begin with very cold rain showers before more widespread rain arrives in the afternoon. Temperatures will only reach into the upper 40s and lower 50s. Rain should begin to slow during the overnight hours ahead of sunnier conditions to finish the week. The weekend will likely bring more rain to the Peach State.
