UPDATE (8/20/2025): U.S. Marshals arrested a 22-year-old Macon man Wednesday afternoon in connection with a 2023 homicide at the Safe Haven Mobile Home Park, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 3:30 p.m., the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Dontae Antez Brown, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Brown was wanted in connection to the death of David Lamar Morgan, which happened in October 2023.

Deputies said Brown was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He was already wanted for terroristic threats, criminal damage to property in the second degree and a state court bench warrant out of Bibb County. He has now been charged with murder and is being held without bond.

UPDATE (7/22/2025): An additional arrest has been made in connection with a 2023 death investigation at the Safe Haven Mobile Home Park.

On July 21, 2025, just before 11:00 a.m., the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended 19-year-old Tylon Andrevious Alexander of Macon. Alexander was taken into custody in connection to the death of David Lamar Morgan, which occurred on October 4, 2023, at the mobile home park.

Alexander was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He was also wanted in Houston County and has been charged with murder. He is currently being held without bond.

UPDATE (7/15/2025) A man wanted in connection to a deadly 2023 shooting has been arrested following a tip to Crime Stoppers.

On July 16, just after 8 a.m., the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force took 44-year-old Tyrone Jerry Briscoe into custody at a residence on Mikado Avenue in Macon.

Briscoe was wanted in connection to the October 4, 2023 death of David Lamar Morgan, which occurred at the Safe Haven Mobile Home Park. After his arrest, Briscoe was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Authorities say Briscoe was wanted on multiple charges out of both Jones and Bibb counties. In Bibb County, charges include probation violation, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, trafficking methamphetamines, and murder.

Briscoe is currently being held without bond.

UPDATE (12:40 p.m.) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of Wednesday morning’s shooting at Safe Haven Mobile Home Park as 58-year-old David Lamar Morgan of Cochran.

Coroner Leon Jones tells the sheriff’s office the victim’s next of kin has been notified.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that happened early Wednesday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies arrived at Safe Haven Mobile Home Park on Glendale Avenue just after 4 a.m. and found a 58-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at Atrium Health Navicent. Nobody else was reported injured.
