UPDATE: Suspect arrested in Chick-fil-A shooting death

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – UPDATE (9:26 p.m.) – A suspect is in custody after a shooting death at a west Macon Chick-fil-A Monday.

Bibb County deputies arrested 18-year-old Julian Charles Kongquee and charged him with murder in the death of 18-year-old Leonard Kendrick Spivey Jr.

A news release from the sheriff’s office says Kongquee contacted the sheriff’s office and emergency medical services from his home about an injured elbow.

Deputies learned he’d cut his elbow during an altercation with Spivey.

Kongquee was treated by paramedics and released into police custody for questioning.

He was later charged with murder and taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, where he’s being held without bond.

“We can all be grateful for the investigators’ quick work in identifying a suspect in this homicide,” Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said. “To gun down someone in a drive-up restaurant in the presence of employees illustrates a callousness that is disturbing. Once again, a teen suspect is arrested for killing another teen to settle a score. An alarming number of local youths are ending up with the coroner or a sheriff’s investigator.”

The sheriff’s office says this is an ongoing investigation. Stay with 41NBC for updates.
