Local family business burglarized
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Suspects from surveillance footage were seen taking items out of Ken’s Stereo on Mercer University Drive in Macon, and the general manager wants answers.
“It’s scary out there, seriously. It really is,” says General Manager Kurt Kozee.
Around 2:45 a.m., three suspects entered the store. They took TVs, blue-ray players and car stereos. By 2:56 a.m., they left.
“At this time we do have an early estimate,” Kozee says, “Around 5 to 6,000 dollars worth of damage.”
He believes someone had been watching the store prior to the break in.
“Somebody’s been looking after us, but at the same time it hurts.”
He adds the thieves are messing with the family business.
“We’ve been in business 38 years. We’ve got to feed our families, so we’re back at work the next morning at 7:00 a.m.”
He counts the number of suspects he sees on the taped video, “Here comes one, two, and then the third suspect.”
Kozee says he plans to contact neighboring businesses hoping their surveillance video will help investigators solve this ongoing crime.
“We’ll go whatever route we need to go to catch these guys, to get them off the street and get them behind bars where they belong.”
If you know anything about this crime, call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at (478) 256-4984.
