Bibb County Elementary School teacher arrested for being aggressive with students

Bibb County sheriff’s deputies arrested 53-year-old Roger Clark and charged him with simple battery.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Authorities arrested a Bibb County elementary school teacher for aggressively handling two students. This comes from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested 53-year-old Roger Clark on Tuesday and charged him with two counts of simple battery.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Clark teaches at L.H. Williams Elementary School in Macon.

Deputies say on Jan. 8, Clark “aggressively snatched” a 7-year-old student from his desk and held the student against the wall. Authorities say Clark then shoved the student to the ground. 

Also, Clark carried another 7-year-old student by his arms, held him against the wall, and later shoved him to the ground as well.

Deputies took Clark to the Bibb County Jail. They set his bond at $1,300.

We reached out to the Bibb County School District, and they made the following comments:

“As we always do when an incident involves the welfare of children, the school district coordinated with both the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and DFCS. Any decisions about legal charges are made by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Parents of the students involved were notified of the incident immediately. The safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority and we do not take any allegations of misconduct lightly.”
