UPDATE: Truck loses control and hydroplanes, passenger dies

UPDATE: According to the Macon-Bibb Coroner, Leon Jones, 57 year-old Timothy Gordon passed away Tuesday afternoon.

The next of kin has been notified, and the crash is still under investigation.

MACON, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – A man is in the hospital after being ejected from a truck in Macon Saturday afternoon.

According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, 55 year old James Snellgrove, of Knoxville, was traveling on Eisenhower Parkway and U.S. 80 around 4:30 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of his truck and it began to hydroplane. The truck flipped several times and the passenger, 57 year old Timothy Gordon of Macon, was ejected from it.

Deputies said Gordon was taken to Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon and is in critical condition. Snellgrove was not injured.

This crash is under investigation.
