2nd Street in Macon to close for improvements
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Beginning this Saturday, the block of Second Street from Cherry to Poplar Streets will be closed as part of the Second Street Corridor project.
The block will close at 4 p.m. for the Bragg Jam festival and will continuing construction for the next 10-12 weeks.
Officials say the closure is only for vehicle traffic. Sidewalks to get to businesses near the area will still be accessible.
SPLOST money is kicking the project off.
A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Monday at 9 a.m.
