Georgia Doom is bringing some people back to their stomping grounds
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – You’ll soon hear “Tic Tic Doom” inside the Macon Coliseum.
Georgia Doom is bringing a few people back home, like Dionte Dinkins.
“I grew up on the Macon Knights, looked up to those guys. I’ve always wanted to be a professional player,” he said.
And Dionte Dinkins achieved his goal. He played for the Saint Louis Rams for three seasons before getting hurt.
“2 years in a row just injuries, right knee, ACL, PCL, meniscus, so yea it kind of haltered my career,” Dinkins said.
But Dinkins’ football career is back in action with his first game on March 24th.
Coach Derek Stingely is also returning home. He used to coach the Macon Knights in 2005 and 2006, so he’s glad to be back.
“To just come back again and see some of the same people, you know see some of the things that reminded me of the times that I was here,” Stingely said. “And you know just to put another program together and try to give the fans something to cheer about, you know I’m very happy. ”
Dinkins said he’s grateful to be back on the field to show someone special in his life what he loves to do.
“I have a 3 year old daughter. She’s excited to see me play. She’s never seen me play, so I can’t wait to showcase, show her exactly what her daddy does,” he said.
A player ready to get back on the field for his daughter, family, and his hometown.
