UPDATE: Three arrested in connection with 2017 Macon murder

Multiple people are now in custody in connection with the November 2017 death of Michael Baxley.

UPDATE (2/14/25):  Multiple people are now in custody in connection with the November 2017 death of Michael Baxley.

According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, Bibb County investigators and members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force issued arrest warrants for the following people on Friday, February 7:

  • Hayley Wilson
  • Daniel Crafton
  • Brittany Wilson

Deputies say investigators learned Hayley Wilson was incarcerated inside the Bibb County Jail for a criminal trespassing charge. She was served an arrest warrant for murder.

U.S. Marshals took 25-year-old Daniel Crafton of Macon into custody on Thursday, and 23-year-old Brittany Wilson, Hayley Wilson’s sibling, was arrested on Friday.

All three are charged with murder.


ORIGINAL STORY (11/6/17):

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says 53-year-old Michael Baxley is the victim in the city’s latest homicide.

Deputies say Baxley’s friend found the victim unresponsive inside the doorway of a home in the 4400 block of Pharr Avenue. That’s in West Macon near Columbus Road and Log Cabin Drive.

Jones says Baxley died from multiple gunshot wounds.

There are no suspects at this time.

Jones says this marks the 26th homicide for Macon-Bibb County this year.
