2 animals killed in Monroe County house fire

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Monroe County firefighters responded to a house fire Thursday, on Montpelier Church Road.

Fire officials say the fire was reported by a passerby.

When firefighters from Stations 10, 4, and 1 along with the City of Forsyth arrived on scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

A Facebook post from Monroe County Emergency Services says “While thankful for no human injuries, we are saddened to advise that 2 animals were found deceased”.

The Red Cross is assisting the homeowner.
