2 adults, 2 teens arrested in Bibb County for drugs, firearms and illegal Glock switch

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, with help from multiple agencies, arrested four people on Thursday afternoon in connection with drugs and firearms possession at a home in the 3700 block of Greenway Place.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began after deputies received information about a delivery of an illegal Glock switch to the home. While surveilling the location, investigators say they saw the package being brought inside. A search warrant was executed, which led to the arrests of four suspects.

During the search, investigators say they found 20 grams of methamphetamines and five firearms, including one reported stolen in Bibb County on November 1.

The suspects were identified as 17-year-olds Christian Lewis Winters and Devon Andrew Winters, 24-year-old Hunter Wayne Smith and 35-year-old Brittany Leann Sheffield. Deputies say Christian Winters was in possession of the Glock Sear switch, and Smith, a convicted felon wanted in Alabama, was found with a firearm.

The suspects face the following charges:

  • Christian Winters: Possession of a machine gun during commission of a crime, theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a person under 18 years old.
  • Devon Winters: Possession of a machine gun during commission of a crime.
  • Hunter Smith: Two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Smith’s outstanding warrant was also served.
  • Brittany Sheffield: Possession of Schedule Two narcotics and two counts of possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

All suspects are being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond.
