1800 Angels Waiting at Macon Mall for Christmas Wish to Come True

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – There are 1800 angels waiting for people to make their holiday wish come true.

On Monday, the Salvation Army put up it’s community angel tree at the Macon Mall. Each angel represents a young girl or boy, or handicapped adult who has a Christmas wish.

Salvation army workers say making an angel’s wish come true gets you into the Christmas spirit.

“It is one of the most gratifying things that I do at Christmas time. I love the Salvation Army and to help children and handicapped adults is very gratifying,” said Jean Keene, President of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.

Kids and handicapped adults are not the only group of people who get help at Christmas time.

“We also help the senior citizens. Last year we did over 700 bags of goodies for the senior citizens,” said Gloria Marshall, Vice President of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.

The angels are on the tree through December 15th. It’s on the second floor of the mall outside of Macy’s.

The Salvation Army helps people in seven middle Georgia counties: Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach and Twiggs.
