18-year-old man sentenced in Starbucks robbery

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One of the four men charged with robbing two Starbucks employees has been sentenced to time in prison.

The District Attorney’s Office says Malik Thornton pleaded guilty to armed robbery this week.

The incident happened back in August.

Investigators say the employees were sitting outside of the store on Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard after closing when two men jumped out of a car with a gun and demanded their money.

Officials say the cases against the three other men in this incident are still pending in Bibb County Superior court.

Thornton was sentenced to 20 years. He will spend 10 years in prison and 10 years on probation.
