UPDATE (1/5): Perry Police said Friday a 16-year-old is now in custody in connection with a shooting Wednesday that left two people hospitalized.

The teen is charged with criminal attempt to commit armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Police say he is being held in the juvenile detention center.

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two people are being treated at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon after being shot in Perry on Wednesday.

Perry Police say it happened in the area of Gaines Drive and Stanley Street at around 2 p.m. Responding officers found two males with gunshot wounds, according to a news release. One of them was shot in the abdomen and the other was shot in both arms.

There’s no update on their conditions and police did not provide the victims’ ages.
