WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Houston County Sheriff’s Office says a 13-year-old girl has been charged in connection with a threat made toward Feagin Mill Middle School.

According to a post from the sheriff’s office, the teen has been charged with terroristic threats and disruption of a public school. Investigators say she will be held at a Regional Youth Detention Center until her court appearance.

Sheriff Matt Moulton said the arrest came after a weekend social media post threatened violence at the school. The sheriff’s office said parents quickly reported the post to the Houston County School District, allowing investigators to quickly identify four potential suspects living in the same home.

Following an investigation, deputies say the student responsible for the post was taken into custody.

“Threats intended to cause fear among our students, faculty, and staff will not be tolerated,” Moulton said. “The Houston County Sheriff’s Office will continue to hold accountable anyone responsible for such acts that disrupt the safety and security of our schools.”

On Sunday, the sheriff’s office said investigators had identified “both students” involved in the case and that they were not allowed to return to school until further notice from administrators.
