Candlelight vigil held to honor Samuel Poss
PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Hundreds of people turned out for a candlelight vigil to remember Samuel Poss.
People held lit candles at Ochlahatchee Ball Park off of Frank Satterfield Road.
Ashley Wukasinovich went to Perry High School with Samuel, she said, “I think that it is important for the whole family to know the whole town supports them if they need anything. We are all here I think it’s important they know they are not alone.”
Some of the people at the vigil stood up in front of the crowd and shared some of there favorite stories about Samuel.
Others waited in line for more than 15 minutes to sign a book that will be given to the Poss family.
The candlelight vigil was originally planned to unite the community and bring Sam home.
But as the news of his murder broke this morning the vigil became a way to remember Sam and to show his family the community supports them during this very difficult time.
The Poss family did not attend the vigil.
