Iron Man Health Fair aims to save lives
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Mark your calendar, an event coming up later this month could help save your life. The 6th Annual Iron Man Health fair will be held on September 17th, from 10:00 until 2:00 at Titans Arena at Central Georgia Technical College in Macon. The event will focus on the importance of getting a free screening for prostate cancer.
“We are inviting the entire Middle Georgia region, especially men, to join us for this year’s Fair and learn more about living a healthier and longer life,” says Mr. Mills, who serves as Chairman of the Iron Men Health Fair. “Our primary focus is to make sure men know the importance of being screened for prostate cancer since it’s the second leading cause of cancer deaths for men. While they’re with us for that, we want to offer them a full spectrum of health advice.”
The event is free to the public. It will include free health screenings for Glucose, Hypertension, Cholesterol, Vision, Hearing, Body Mass I ndex, HIV, and Prostate-Specific Antigen (screening for Prostate Cancer).
Other health professionals will be on hand to answer health related questions.
