Macon-Bibb breaks ground on Pinnacle Park
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Pinnacle Park in Macon-Bibb County is about to get a makeover.
County leaders broke ground on the first phase of the new project in South Macon. It includes a park on the lower area of the site. The county plans to build a picnic pavilion and observation deck on the higher ground.
“It’s designed to be a landmark park for this neighborhood. Something that we hope will spur redevelopment in this area,” explained Macon-Bibb Assistant Director of Economic Development.
The county budgeted $100,000 in federal funding for the project. The county spokesperson says the first phase of the project may only require $77,000.
Commissioners hope to finish it by the end of May.
