YouTube expands in podcasting as Meta delays AI rollout, GTA VI faces new launch date

YouTube is making a major push into the podcasting space.

(LILAMAX)- YouTube is making a major push into the podcasting space. While traditionally known for video content, the platform has launched a new weekly chart showcasing the top podcasts—putting it in direct competition with Spotify and Apple. YouTube now claims more than one billion monthly active views for podcast content, with video podcasts continuing to dominate the media landscape. Currently topping YouTube’s chart are The Joe Rogan Experience, Kill Tony, and true crime show Rotten Mango.

Meanwhile, shares of Meta dipped more than 2% following a report from The Wall Street Journal that the company is delaying the release of its next-generation AI model, named “Behemoth.” Sources say engineers are struggling to boost the model’s capabilities. Meta, which is facing competition from OpenAI, has told investors it plans to spend nearly $70 billion this year on capital expenditures, focusing heavily on AI development.

Rival AI platform Perplexity has announced a new partnership with PayPal. The collaboration enables shoppers to use Perplexity’s Pro platform to search and make purchases via AI chatbot—a system referred to as “agentic commerce.” PayPal will handle all transactions, including payments, shipping, tracking, and invoicing.

In the gaming world, Take-Two Interactive has lowered its full-year revenue forecast. The announcement comes after the company delayed the release of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI until May of next year. The next entry in the blockbuster franchise is expected to sell millions of copies and generate billions of dollars within weeks of launch.
