Young Jeezy Returns to Roots, Giving Back to Middle Georgia Community

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Young Jeezy was in Macon Monday giving back to the community.

The Unionville native returned to his roots to hand out toys for the holidays. Parents and children filled the Booker T. Washington Community Center to meet the rapper and receive a free gift.

Young Jeezy gave away about 200 gifts he bought with his own money. The Grammy-award winning rapper said he will never forget where he came from.

“Once you get to a level, you can’t forget about the people that got you there,” he said.

Before leaving, Young Jeezy took plenty of pictures, chatted and signed autographs. He hopes to expand his giveaway in the near future by gaining corporate sponsors.

“So we can get the kids computer and iPads,” he said, “and thinks you know they need to advance.”

Young Jeezy made three stops in Atlanta after his visit in Macon. He said he will be back next year.
